6/12/10               So…what should we do about the book of Revelation?

First thing is to read and study Revelation; it is the only book in the Bible that gets you a blessing, just for reading it. Revelation 1:3  Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.  Revelation is a Prophesy of the Last Days, along with a warning.

Recently God has told me to read Revelation again, I have read Revelation many times and there is always something new God revels to me. My journey with God and with the Book of Revelation started when I was a teenager, in the sixties.  My Sunday school teacher spent a year on the study of revelation.  This is the first time I heard about the Last Days or End Times, and to my surprise it did not scare me, I knew I was saved and knew where I would spend eternity.  The thought of all of this; God’s Judgment and how could this be possible was beyond my understanding.  How could the Anti-Christ track everybody in the world with those that have the “Mark of the Beast” and all the events that would take place and be viewed by the world at the same time? Remember during this time I was still in my teens there was no cell phone, satellite phones, personal computers, internet or powerful computers that we have today.  Bill Gates and Steve Jobs had not formed their companies yet, not until years later.  How was this possible, great question?  Today there is an answer, today all this is technologically possible!

But that was not the real question, the real question is what do we do we do about it (Revelation)?  The book of Revelation in not to scare anyone, it is to warn and prepare others for the season we are in and when Jesus will return.  When??? We do not know; those that study Bible prophecy believe the time is close!

1 Corinthians 15:52, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

At that very moment (twinkling of an eye) ALL the saints (saved by the blood of Jesus) will be taken up (Raptured) to be with Christ forever. At that same time there WILL NOT be a single person on this earth that knows Jesus Christ as their Savior, which means there will not be a saved person in the entire world!  The earth as we know it will be a very dark world to live in.

Everyone you know that does not know Jesus as their personal Savior; family, friends, co-workers will be left behind, which is the bad news; good news… during the Tribulation period (7 Years) those left behind will have an opportunity to accept Jesus as their Savior.    However, the really good and better news is there is still time to tell them about Jesus now and avoid the Tribulation, which are our job and our responsibility as Jesus’ Saints.

That is one of the purposes of the Book of Revelation is to warn everyone that means; your family, friends, co-workers, those you love and even those you do not know!

Revelation 22:7  “Behold, I am coming quickly! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.”

Revelation 22:20 He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.”
Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!

Some believe the book of Revelation to be a hard message to understand or even to believe, that may be true for some, however in Psalm 119:105 The LORD says that His Word is a lamp unto our feet and a light to our path.  John 8:32 Jesus says; Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."  And 2nd Timothy 3:16-17;All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.”

Please feel free to pass this message to all you know that are not sure where they will spend eternity, also here is a link to a Sinners Prayer.

5/15/10                        Core Values: What are they?  What are yours?

Core Value:  What is it, what does this mean?  Breaking it down can help… “Core” is the center, central, most important part of something and “Value” is worth, importance, a standard or standards lived by.  So “Core Value” is the central, most important ideal or standard you live by.  It is what keeps your feet steady on the road you travel, the journey you take.  It is what is most important to you in life.  It helps guide your thoughts and decisions.  It can be a number of things and it is different for each and every individual.  One may choose career while another may choose family.  A small list of core values can be for example: Adventure, Control, Education, Faith, Family, Friends, Freedom, Fun, God, Happiness, Health, Honor, Independence, Integrity, Intimacy, Marriage, People, Power, Security, Self-reliance, Success, Wisdom…anything that is most important to you.

Core Values and knowing yours is vitally significant. As mentioned above, it or they will help you keep steady in your walk of life and as long as your core values are good, so your decisions will be.  Core Values can and will most likely change from time to time as you mature or go through different steps in your life.

As for me, these days my core values are God, the fruit of the Spirit- mainly love, family, friends, and people.  I think as a child it was probably centered on family and wanting and needing to please them, as a teenager it probably changed to self-reliance, self-gratification and fun.  In my twenties and thirties it went back to family with friends added and in the mix security.  Now I have learned and am still learning to trust in God for all other things (security, health, wisdom, fun….); setting Him as the central value of my life.  With God all things are possible…Matthew 19:26.  And with God being number one, love follows Him.  God is love and love covers everything!  1 John 4:16, 4:18; Proverbs 10:12; Romans 5:5, 8:28, 13:8.  In loving others you want to do what is best for them; therefore you walk in integrity and honor; showing respect and building upon the relationship in trust and understanding. The fruit if the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, kindness, faithfulness gentleness and self-control…the WORD goes on to say that against such things there is no law. (Galatians 5:22,23)  With such things, we cannot help but touch the lives of others in a positive way.  I believe “Love” being the root of it all.  If we love then all these follow; could be why it was listed first.

Love is followed by family, friends, and people.  If God and love are the foremost important core values then my family, friends and the people I encounter/meet will be recipients of both God and His love.  For with love, God’s love flowing through, they will receive from Him all they are looking for and longing for.  With God and love I can instill into their lives faith, hope, joy and peace.  Faith to help them persevere and trust; hope brings confidence and optimistic expectations of seeing God’s goodness allowing joy to set in and peace which helps them find rest in the midst of all things.  It is necessary; it is what I owe others, an encounter with God.  With God and His love I want to help motivate people to be all they were destined to be.  I want to encourage them, inspire them, and walk with them.  I want the best for them in all things.

1 Corinthians 13 is a whole chapter on love.  Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails…But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love.

If I keep this as my center focus, my core values, then all decisions I make with God, family, friends and other people will be made in love, in the fruit of the Spirit and for their good.  All conversations with them should bring life and blessings and grace.  It should build them up not tear them down.  Even when it is to bring correction or redirection; this is done with love, mercy and grace. 1 John 3:18 says…”let us not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth.”  There is a time for words of love in affirmation or correction and as I wrote above and the Word of God says…words we speak can bring life or death, blessings or curses but the love we show in deed and truth has such a lasting impact.  And all these should lead them closer to the Lord which is the ultimate purpose…seeing that not one should perish but have everlasting life so that we remain in unity with one another and the God-head for eternity.

Core Value….Matthew 22L36-40; Mark 12:30-33

“Love the LORD our GOD with all our heart, all our soul and all our mind and with all our body (strength).  This is the great and foremost commandment.  The second is like it…Love our neighbor as ourself.”

4/8/10                                      We are made for Greatness

Greatness, described in the English Dictionary … very large; large numbers; with much; impressive; more important than others; very significant; exceptional talents or achievements; powerful; influential; an expert; extreme or more than usual; lasting a long time or covering a long distance; emphasizing how much of a quality somebody or something has.    These are not bad definitions and all true definitions.

The Bible tells us in Matthew 23:11 & 12 “The greatest among you will be your servant.  For whoever exalts himself will be humbled and whoever humbles himself with be exalted.”  And then in Mark 10:42-45 “Jesus called them together and said, ‘You know that those who are regarded as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them.   Not so with you.  Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all.  For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Truly there is only one who exemplifies greatness; one who fulfills all definition by the earth and the heavens and that alone is our LORD God Almighty, the Father of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ who is God.   Yet, this is what His Word says about each of us whom He created:  Genesis 1:27 “God created us in His own image, in the image of God He created us; male and female, He created each one”  and  Psalm 139:14 “we are fearfully and wonderfully made”.   We are made for “greatness” and we are made to do great things.  Jesus says in John 14:12 that all the works that He did, those who believe in Him will do even greater works.  We are great; God does nothing less than create master pieces!

The thing is, most of us do not know this and if we cannot see or believe that there is greatness in us then it makes it hard to see the greatness in others.  So the first thing we must do to walk in this greatness is to hear the Word of God and believe.  We must recognize whose DNA we carry within us.   We must believe that we are fearfully and wonderfully made.  We must believe that His plans for us are to prosper us and not harm us but to give us hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11)  His plan is not for us to live in our sin or the guilt of it.  His plan is for us to live a life of freedom from sin and to help others do the same.  We do this by believing and having faith in God that He will complete the good works He has started in us.  (Phil 1:6)   We notice that this is an on-going process.   Then we can begin helping others see the greatness in themselves.

Finding the dirt in others, all the sins of their past, is not very hard to do.  And as long as that is what we focus on, that is what we cause that person to walk in.  We help keep them prisoners of their past.  When we do this we are siding with Satan.  We must speak out what God has created them for.  We must ask the LORD, “How do You see this person?”  And then we must share that with him or her.   If opportunity allows, we must share it with them until they see it themselves.  Let them know they are strong or that they have exemplary integrity.  Maybe God shows you they are creative or they have teaching abilities.   It could be any number of things for God’s talents are not exhaustive and He shares all that He is with us.   I merely told a man who was living on the streets that God created him for greatness.   This impacted the man so much that from that night forward he dove into the word of God and then hit the streets with a new attitude and one that he shared with others.  He began telling others that they were created for greatness and as he heard more and more from the LORD, he was able to tell others what God has to say about them.   Remember, our words can bring life or death.  Speaking out who they are, how God sees them, how we see them, can bring them life and help them to live the life Jesus came to give them…a life abundant.

It is not to make people arrogant or to cause them to become prideful; that is a fear of some who cannot see the whole picture of a people walking as God created them.   It is to shift the works of the enemy which is one of the things we are called to do; destroy the works of Satan here on earth.  If Satan can keep us believing we are worthless and good for nothing, then he keeps us from doing all God has planned for our lives, those thoughts and beliefs keep us from the abundant life Jesus talked about.   We must show them they are filled with many gifts to use and to give to others.  We must help them discover these gifts, if not by a specific word from the Lord then by searching out what is in their heart.  It may be hidden deep if they have believed the lies about themselves for a while.   Read 1 Corinthians 12 and 13.   These chapters in the Bible speak of the gifts God has to share with us and through us to others.  God has put within each us desires and longings and dreams…they, we, must be able to find these and then start moving in them.   With this growth, this re-birth as this new creation which we are; we find a confidence that was missing, we find a strength that was always supposed to be there.   And we do this recognizing it is by the love and grace of God that we are great, that we have something to offer others; that we have something within us that is needed in this world to make it the place the LORD always intended it to be.  We begin to love to serve God and people as we were called to do without it seeming to be a chore or just another task.  We must help others to hold their heads high and be proud of whom God established them to be.

What are some of the ways to help them find this greatness?  Start speaking the fruit of the Spirit into their lives; Love, peace, joy, patience, goodness, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.   Let them know they are the apple of His eye.  Let them know they are justified, they are God’s workmanship; they are complete in Christ. They are seated with Jesus in heavenly places, they are unique, they are ministers of reconciliation, they are chosen and chosen to bear good fruit, they are a child of God’s and a friend of Jesus.  They are wonderful!!!  Love on them, love them, love them.  The Word of God says keep faith, hope and love; love being the greatest to share …. Remind them that with God ALL things are possible.  And as they become more confident in this they become witnesses for the LORD as to His goodness and His greatness.  Our lives, all lives should be a living example of Him and His glory.   (John 17:22)

Do we ignore sin?  No, sin should be dealt with but in love, respect, honor, and always forgiveness.  Then simply pull from heaven the very opposite of their action or deed and release it to them in a spoken declaration.  Declaring the greatness in a person, those spoken words help break the hold the enemy might have on them and help them dispel the wrong belief they may have of themselves.  Speak it out!!!  We all are created for greatness!!!!

3/8/10                                                 What is a Prophet?

In dictionaries the word “prophet” is described as someone who interprets divine will; one who interprets and /or transmits the commands of a deity; one who predicts the future; one who advocates a cause or idea; one who may be considered to be an inspired leader or teacher or preacher.  In Christianity, a prophet is considered one who announces, pronounces and denounces as the LORD God commands.  He or she releases, declares the Word of the LORD and also releases judgment as the LORD chooses. They are ones who study the Word of God to grow in maturity in order to awaken and cultivate people and territories.  They are gifts of Jesus Christ to the body of Christ to equip the body.

Prophets have been around since the beginning of time as stated in Luke 1:70. “70 As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began:  71 that we should be saved from our enemies and from the hand of all that hate us;” (KJV)   Abraham and Moses were called prophets by God, Himself and their sister, Miriam, a prophetess. (Genesis 20:7; Exodus 15:20; Deut. 18:15; 34:10)   They had direct contact with Him; as the LORD said of Moses in Numbers 12:6-8; most prophets received dreams and visions from the LORD; hence were called “Seers”, but with Abraham and Moses, He spoke to directly to them and with Moses it is said in the Word, “mouth to mouth”, “face to face”.   Today we hear of seeing prophets, hearing prophets, prophets who receive open visions, others dreams and interpretation of dreams, other are artistic prophets in music and art.  God speaks to His prophets in various ways.

Prophets are created for God and appointed by God to be His spokes persons to and for the people.  Some are appointed from birth, like the prophet Jeremiah whom God tells that he was chosen before he was in his mother’s womb and John the Baptist whom the LORD told Zechariah, his father, that he would bring many back to God and he would have the spirit and power of Elijah. (Jeremiah 1:5; Luke 1:11-17)  Others like Samuel whom God called from early childhood under the mentorship of Eli may not have the forewarning as John the Baptist did.  1st Samuel 3:19-21   I believe God creates all those He chooses to be prophets and knows them before they are in their mothers’ wombs.  It is often the choices that are made by them whether or not they walk in the office of a prophet.  Those who purpose to be faithful servants of the LORD love the LORD God with all their hearts, souls and mind and are obedient to Him.  They are sent to bring things into alignment, to set things right and to guide the people and their leaders because God trust them.  As the people walked with God, the prophet would help keep them focused on the LORD and would share with them the things coming that the LORD would reveal to him or her.  But when the people were in danger of falling away from God or actually turned away from God, the prophet brought often strong words from the LORD revealing their sin(s) and rebuking them for their sin or sins.

This type of Word brought much dislike and rejection to the prophet. The prophets are people of no compromise; they cannot or should not be able to be bought off.  They are passionate towards God and His Word and they have great compassion for the people and the land which could cause the prophet much grief at times.  They often oppose what the people see as popular either morally (immoral) or spiritually.  He calls their attention to what God says is right which is often different from the way the world is acting and walking when he has to bring it up.   He or she brings forth the truth in hopes of bringing the people to repentance which then releases new hope prayerfully turning them back to God and ultimately pointing them to Jesus Christ.    When they, the people, choose to continue in their own way, the prophet released as God commanded the judgment that would be imminent.  This was not always pleasant for the prophet because not only did he love the LORD God, but he loved those God sent him to.

The prophet has a close relationship with God and often needs quiet and solitude time away from everyone else to continue to cultivate this relationship.   He spends time in the supernatural unlike most others.  He spends time before the Father’s throne seeking His voice, His direction, even His favor for the people.  The prophet is special to Him.  He, the LORD God, says in His Word that He protects His prophets.  1st Chronicle 16:22   The prophet will first consult with God before anyone else just as the LORD reveals nothing until He has revealed it to His prophets.  Amos 3:7    I see it as a covenant relationship with God. The LORD shares His heart and will with the prophet and they share theirs with Him.  And though this is a heart to heart relationship, the prophet never forgets the Sovereignty and Holiness of the LORD God.

Jesus is the perfect example of a prophet.  He only did what He saw the Father do and He only said what He heard the Father say.  He was considered and called a prophet throughout the New Testament…Matthew 21:11; Luke 13:33; John 4:44 and others.

He was rejected in His own home town.  He declares He did not come to rid the world of prophets but to fulfill their purpose and words.  Matthew 5:17-18 “Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished.”

Prophets are still around and it is time for their rising to the surface.  The body of Christ needs them.   Though the Spirit of the LORD is quite evident today in the lives of so many as prophecy is becoming more widespread still Ephesians 4: 11-13 states that He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ.

Today the prophet is still called to the office to declare God’s goodness and authority over nations, perform acts of righteousness with signs, wonders, and miracles; to help direct God’s people, to obtain the promises of God for His people; to spread the fire of Holy Spirit and to shut the mouth of our enemy by following the commands and voice of the LORD.

2/12/2010                                              I am Israel--

(This message came from a fellow believer in Jesus Christ)

I am Israel--

I was born millennia before I was renamed Palestine by the conquering Romans, before Muhammad took his first breath, and before the U.N. decided to split me in half and turn my Eastern lands into Jordan. My people, the Jews, maintained communities here for three thousand years- that is until the Arabs decided to massacre those Jews without reason in 1920 and 1929. Hundreds of civilians were murdered, most of them women and children. Meanwhile, their brother Arab states massacred and exiled 1 million Arabic Jews from their lands-- erasing their history.

I am Israel--

I have been attacked four times by Arab armies since I declared independence in 1948. I told the Arabs who lived on my land that they were welcome to stay, but they were told by the neighboring states to leave temporarily while the Jews were "taken care of". I have been offering a message of peace since the day I was born, but my enemies answered only in bullets. I am a survivor--I won every war. Realizing they could not defeat me with arms, my enemies have turned to lies.

I am Israel--

Time and time again my name is smeared. Though each of these lies is eventually disproven, my enemies continue to claim I am committing genocide. Is giving educational opportunities to Palestinian Arabs "genocide"? 20% of the students in Haifa University are Arabs. If I am an aggressor who exiled all the Arabs in 1948, why are 20% of my citizens Arabs with full rights? Where did they magically appear from? Why did I give up the entire Sinai and the Gaza strip, uprooting my own people from their homes, only for the hope of peace?

I am Israel--

In combat, I risk the lives of my teenage sons and daughters in order to minimize civilian Palestinian casualties. I make every attempt to target only fighters, often putting my own soldiers in harms way. In wartime, I drop leaflets on areas to be attacked, warning civilians to evacuate. Has any other army in the history of mankind done this for its enemy? I waited 8 years to stop Hamas from its daily rocket attacks on my kindergartens and my hospitals. I am patient, but my patience is not infinite.

I am Israel--

I have created Intel and cell phone technology, medicine for devastating diseases, and I lead the world in scientific publications per capita. I send humanitarian missions to developing countries, including Muslim countries. I have absorbed hundreds of Muslim refugees who faced genocide in Darfur-- refugees no Muslim state would take.

I am Israel--

I am one of the smallest countries in the world, and probably the most stubborn-I refuse to give up hope for peace. My friends support me not because of any lobby, but because they see the truth-- I am the heart of the Middle East, and the hope for its future. My prophet said, "Nation shall not lift up sword against nation," and I will try, and try, and TRY until those words are true.

Because I am Israel.

1/8/2010                             God Loves you and He likes you as well

Just a few days before Christmas I went to Wal-Mart to do little last minute shopping; I got the items needed; paid for them and went home.  A couple of hours later I decided to pick up lunch; I had my niece with me and when we got to restaurant I reached for my wallet and realized it was not there.  I told my niece we had do back home and get my wallet (thinking I had left it there).  When we got home I could not find my wallet.  We called Wal-Mart to see if anyone had turned in a wallet, after checking they came back and said that no wallets had been turned in.  I decided to go Wal-Mart and retrace my steps to see if I could find it.  After retracing my steps I decided to check inside to see if anyone had turned it in yet.   At the customer service desk I spoke to the person whom we spoke to over the phone, she reconfirmed that my wallet was not in the lost and found drawer.  After that she spoke to her supervisor and asked him to come and check if my wallet was in the safe, he looked in the safe and even looked in the drawer again; there was no wallet.  I thanked both of them and went back home.

When I got home I looked again and called my bank and put a hold on Credit Cards until it was found or confirmed lost.   We started praying for my wallet to be found, I had a similar incident in Bangkok where my Passport was stolen, we prayed and we asked God for my passport to be returned, here is a link to that story Passport.  We decided to pray and ask God for my wallet as we did for the passport and commanded the thief (if there was one) to turn my wallet in it.  I told God I wanted my wallet back.

Later that day I was out again, I stopped by Wal-Mart (third trip of the day) to see if my wallet had been turned in.   I went to the customer service desk; this time there was a different person behind the deck.   I described my wallet and asked if it had been returned.  She looked in the lost and found drawer and there were no wallets there.  She volunteered to call a supervisor to see if there was anything in the safe.  There was a different supervisor working now and I explained what I was looking for and described it to her.  She went to her office checked, came back and said there were no wallets in the safe. She asked the other lady behind the desk if she had looked in the L&F drawer, the lady told the supervisor that she had looked and there were no wallets at all in the drawer.   The supervisor decided to check herself; she opened the drawer and pulled out my wallet.   The looked of surprise of the lady behind the desk was incredible.  Three different people including two supervisors looked in the same drawer and had not found any wallets.

Because we are God’s children’s, when we cry to Him He listens and acts.  God loves us and likes to do things for us even as simple as getting our wallet back.  That is the God we serve, remember He calls us friends and friends do stuff like that!   John 15:15  No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.
